Sr. Accountant

Stratfield is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Client's team. The ideal candidate will bring strong corporate and public accounting experience and will be responsible for owning month‑end close activities, performing account reconciliations, and supporting accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role partners with cross‑functional teams to support business decisions while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

This is a direct hire position that will be onsite in Atlanta. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Prepare, review, and post monthly journal entries with appropriate documentation
• Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure accurate period‑end balances, proper cutoff, and timely month‑end close
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to gather information needed for close and reporting
• Analyze financial results, including variance and trend analysis, and identify anomalies
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis for management
• Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls
• Support accounting systems initiatives, documentation, and special projects
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and training requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or similar degree.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in a corporate environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience independently managing month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• CPA license or active CPA candidate preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
• Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools preferred.
