Overview of the Staff Accountant Role

The Staff Accountant will work closely with operations personnel to gain a deep understanding of the business and ensure accurate and complete review of income statements. The Staff Accountant should have strong knowledge of GAAP, full‑cycle accounting experience, and the ability to thrive in the heavy equipment industry. Strong analytical, systems, and relationship‑building skills are essential.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

• Serve as the accounting liaison for multiple departments—working closely with operations teams to understand their work, review income statements for accuracy, produce ad hoc reports, and research financial statement questions as needed.
• Prepare internal and external financial statements, dashboards, and key statistical reports.
• Perform daily and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, posting correcting journal entries, and preparing supporting work papers for auditors.
• Conduct financial analysis for assigned areas and communicating insights clearly and promptly to operational leadership.

Minimum Qualifications for the Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant should have:

• At least 5 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and analysis.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
