Galerie Living is a fully integrated senior living organization encompassing capital, development, and management of luxury senior living communities. Through Galerie Capital, Galerie Development, and Galerie Management, we support the full lifecycle of senior living- from capital formation and ground-up development to community operations and long-term leadership.
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting functions across the Galerie platform. This role reports to our Corporate Controller and plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple entities, properties, and operating structures within the senior living space.
Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across Galerie’s capital, development, and operating entities. This role supports month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting related to senior living operations, development projects, and investment structures.
This is an individual contributor role designed for an experienced accountant who thrives in a multi-entity, fast-growing environment and wants exposure across real estate, operations, and investment accounting—without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjustments across operating, development, and investment entities
- Maintain general ledger integrity for senior living communities and corporate entities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations; research and resolve variances
- Support preparation of financial statements for management, development, and capital entities
- Assist with intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations
- Support accounting for development activity, capital expenditures, and fixed assets
Partner with operations and community leadership to ensure accurate expense coding and financial reporting - Support audit, tax, and compliance requests across multiple entities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, real estate, hospitality, or multi-property environments strongly preferred
- Exposure to development accounting, property-level P&Ls, or multi-entity structures preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems, specifically Yardi
- Experience supporting audits and working with external partners
- CPA or CPA-track a plus, but not required
