Location: In‑office — Atlanta Decorative Arts Center, Downtown Atlanta (about 6–8 miles south of Buckhead)
Type: Direct Hire
OverviewJoin a growing leader in the decorative arts industry as a Staff Accountant
. This hands‑on role is ideal for an early‑career accounting professional or recent graduate who wants to build broad accounting experience in a collaborative, fast‑paced small‑company environment. You’ll work closely with finance and operations teams, contribute to month‑end close and reporting, and help improve processes that support business growth.
- General accounting: Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and perform account reconciliations.
- Close support: Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities and prepare supporting schedules.
- AP/AR management: Process accounts payable, manage vendor relationships, and oversee accounts receivable and collections.
- Financial analysis: Prepare and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts; identify variances and trends.
- Reporting and audit: Support financial reporting, documentation, and external/internal audit requests.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate, organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Cross‑functional collaboration: Partner with operations, purchasing, and sales to resolve accounting issues and support business needs.
- Process improvement: Recommend and implement efficiency initiatives, automation opportunities, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2+ years of hands‑on accounting experience (1 year considered for exceptional recent graduates).
- Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, SUMIFS, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a small‑company setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with a collaborative, solutions‑oriented attitude.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems (strong plus).
- Background in multi‑functional accounting roles or manufacturing/retail/wholesale environments.
- Familiarity with fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and basic tax or payroll processes.

. - Paid time off: 60 hours PTO + 1 week vacation in Year 1; 2 weeks vacation in Year 2; 3 weeks vacation after 5 years.
