DescriptionBased in Atlanta, Switchyards has pioneered a new consumer category for the future of work. With big plans to expand our work clubs nationwide, we’re quickly becoming one of the iconic brands of our generation—alongside other Atlanta greats like Home Depot, Waffle House, and Chick-fil-A.
Switchyards is scaling fast……but we’re just getting started. We will open work clubs in hundreds of great neighborhoods across the country, combining what we’ve learned through rapid growth with continued innovation—all while keeping the soulful Switchyards brand at the center. We’re on the hunt for a Senior Accountant to join us in 2026 and beyond.
The OpportunityWe are looking for a proactive, systems-thinking Senior Accountant to become the first full-time member of our accounting team. This is a pivotal role where you will bridge the gap between the day-to-day operations of our clubs and our financial data and reporting. In addition to working directly with our existing outsourced accounting team, the Senior Accountant will be expected to own and improve critical accounting and financial processes of the business.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Business Integration
:
Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for employees and accounts payable vendors. Leverage understanding and insights gained through internal and external conversations to translate business activities into accurate accounting treatments. - Process Architecture
:
Gain a deep understanding of our existing processes and develop v2 processes, workflows, and templates that will deliver value to the organization over time. This includes, but is not limited to, the month end close process, accounts payable, requisitions, financial reporting, budgeting, and specialized accounting treatments. - Quality Control
:
Review the work of our outsourced accounting team. You will provide the first line of defense in transaction coding and reconciliation accuracy - ensuring that expenses and capital outlays are accurately coded to the correct club and department. - The "Clean-Up":
Take ownership of the general ledger. You will document SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure that institutional knowledge stays within the company and assist with the month/year-end accounting closes via detailed P&L reviews and ensuring all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and supported by clear documentation. - Technical Problem Solving
:
Research and implement accounting treatments for one-off or complex transactions (e.g., debt instruments, revenue recognition, etc.).
- Team-First Mentality: You’re willing to take on work when a clear owner is not present. You understand that rolling up your sleeves and doing some heavy lifting not only moves the ball forward, but provides a better understanding of the business’ ground level truths.
- Growth Mindset
:
You understand that your growth in an organization is predicated on delivering more value to the business over time. You’re comfortable taking on new projects and identifying opportunities to automate and/or pass‑off existing responsibilities. - The "Fixer" & "Systems Architect":
You are naturally bothered by manual, repetitive tasks and you get excited about clean data. You have a track record of leveraging tools (Excel, QBO, Ramp) to automate manual tasks and reduce human error. - Analytical Mindset
:
You don't just record a number; you want to know the why behind it. You aren't afraid to ask questions to get the context right. - Detail-Obsessed but Goal-Oriented
:
You care about the pennies, but understand materiality and priorities. You understand that…
