Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm seeking an experienced Account Resolution Specialist to join our Atlanta office. The Account Resolution Specialist assumes responsibility for overseeing the daily operations and goals associated with eBilling and Collection processes within the Firm. This position involves monitoring, analyzing, and overseeing eBilled invoices that have been escalated from the Collections team.
The key objective is to ensure the smooth processing of client invoices through diverse eBilling systems while also implementing strategic initiatives to optimize the efficiency of eBilling and Collection procedures. Moreover, the Account Resolution Specialist is accountable for validating and approving relevant write-offs. This role reports to the Collections Manager and is required to uphold open and effective communication channels.

- Serves as an escalation point for eBilling issues that may be preventing or delaying collection efforts.
- Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise during or after the invoice submission process.
- Coordinates with Attorneys, Billing Analysts, Collections Specialists, eBilling team and Legal Administrative Staff for resolution and maintenance tasks associated with client e-billing requirements.
- Review and analyze accounts receivable aging to identify overdue and uncollectible debts.
- Verifying and confirming appropriate write-offs
- Evaluate the open balance invoices to determine the appropriateness of write-offs.
- Coordinate needed write-offs and submit for approval to the Collections Manager for amounts not being appealed, uncollectable, processing fees, and denied appeals that cannot be further challenged.
- Research client accounts using electronic billing sites.
- Discern the appropriate actions to resolve outstanding balances.
- Is familiar with and applies firm billing policies and follows established procedures.
- Effectively interact and communicate updates to attorneys and Collection team members
- Review and verify the accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required.
- Research and respond to inquiries regarding e-billing issues and problems.
- Is familiar with and applies Firm billing policies and follows established procedures.
- Escalates appropriate issues to Collections Manager and Firm Leadership when required.
- Utilizes computerized billing software programs to perform billing duties.
- Assists with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required. Bachelors’ Degree preferred (Accounting, Business, Legal Studies).
- Accounting and Billing software experience is preferred.
- Must be proficient with MS Office and HTML (web-based) programs.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under tight deadlines.
- Top-notch organizational skills for optimal work flow and efficiency.
- Understands basic leadership and management principles and abides by company policy.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of E-Billing experience navigating systems such as Legal Exchange;
Legal X; T360;
Litigation Advisor [LSS];
Serengeti or similar systems. - Demonstrates a strong attention to detail, catches errors and corrects them quickly.
