Staff Accountant

Description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the month-end and year-end close processes.

This role offers a critical foundation for ensuring the integrity of the organization's financial information and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

+ Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.

+ Assist in month-end and year-end close procedures, including preparation of supporting schedules and reports.

+ Analyze account variances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

+ Maintain and organize financial files and documentation for audit purposes.

+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper coding and tracking of financial transactions.

+ Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

+ Support internal and external audit processes by providing requested information and documentation.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Proven experience in a staff accounting or related accounting role.

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and the full accounting cycle.

+ Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

+ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

+ Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
