Senior Property Accountant

The Intersect Group is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing all accounting aspects of property operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting property managers with accounting guidance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a customer-service mindset, and experience in property management accounting.

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP (cash or accrual basis).
• Manage prepaids and accruals, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain accurate general ledger balances.
• Update weekly cash positions and ensure accuracy of cash/bank balances.
• Review rental activity reports from Yardi and post reclassifying entries.
• Analyze financial data, prepare variance explanations, and maintain supporting schedules (Fixed Assets, Insurance, Taxes).
• Oversee vendor invoices in the accounts payable system and provide GL coding directives.
• Collaborate with internal teams (asset management, property management) and external auditors for year-end audits.
• Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for investors, HUD, and other agencies.

• BS in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of property accounting experience (multi-family housing preferred).
• Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel/Word.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and property accounting principles.
