Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing and optimizing the company's accounts payable processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Verify and review invoices and check requests to ensure proper coding and approval before processing.

- Reconcile accounts payable transactions, including purchase orders and expense reports.

- Investigate and resolve outstanding balances on vendor accounts promptly.

- Prepare checks and input payment data into the accounting system to ensure timely vendor payments.

- Communicate daily financial totals for account transfers and maintain accurate records.

- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including preparing journal entries.

- Generate ad-hoc reports and other financial documents as required by management.

- Serve as a liaison between vendors and the company to address and resolve invoice-related issues.

- Organize and distribute annual 1099 forms to vendors and dealers.

- Participate in special projects and provide training support to team members as needed. Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years of full-cycle accounts payable experience.

- Proficiency in coding accounts and using accounting software systems.

- Familiarity Great Plains and ERP systems.

- Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and accrual accounting principles.

- Experience with auditing and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.

- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication abilities to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams.

- Ability to handle sensitive consumer information, including Social Security numbers and dates of birth
