Accounting Consultant - Payroll & Benefits

Exciting consulting opportunity! Vaco Atlanta is partnering with one of our top clients to identify an experienced Accounting Consultant to support payroll and benefits accounting

• Reconcile payroll bank accounts and withholding balance sheet accounts, including researching discrepancies and posting journal entries to clear open items
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A to support requested journal entry reclasses and financial analysis
• Prepare, post, and track payroll-related journal entries, including severance and employee bonus accruals
• Process and post payroll tax entries and employee garnishments
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline payroll accounting processes and internal controls
• Support year-end audit activities, including preparation of payroll-related footnotes and audit documentation

• CPA highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proven payroll accounting experience with a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
• Clear and effective communicator with the ability to work transparently across teams
• Collaborative professional who is comfortable making and owning critical accounting decisions

Pay Rate $70-80

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
