Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist
Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist to join our Atlanta office. The Accounts Receivable Collections position is responsible for collecting funds from insurance carriers, their policy holders, and direct‑hire clients. This individual works closely with the attorneys to resolve any issues related to collecting the payment of invoices.
The ideal candidate should be deadline driven, highly organized and a detailed problem solver who thrives in a team environment and understands the importance of both internal and external client service.
$29.33/hr - $32.35/hr

- Review and analyze accounts receivable aging
- Research client accounts using electronic billing sites to resolve outstanding balances
- Contact clients via phone and email to follow up on status of unpaid invoices
- Prepare and send monthly overdue statements
- Negotiate and arrange payment schedules
- Record all collection activities regularly
- Communicate all collections activity with the assigned Partner
- Request application of retainers and unapplied cash for payment of invoices
- Process refund requests for remaining trust balances and client over payments
- Calculate deductible exhaustion for insured client matters
- Audit accounts receivable ledgers as needed
- Prepare reports as needed
- High School Diploma required;
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field - Two to four years of AR collections experience required
- Two years in insurance carrier collections preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office; strong Excel skills preferred
- Experience with e‑billing vendor sites (Legal
X, T360, etc.) - Experience with e‑billing also considered
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines

- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail, catching errors and correcting them quickly
- Ability to perform at high levels in a fast‑paced, dynamic work environment
