PositionThe Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting internal financial operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and GAAP. This role focuses on the firm’s own financial operations and works closely with the Controller and Finance leadership to manage day‑to‑day accounting activities.
Responsibilities- Manage accounts receivable and cash receipts, deposit checks, post journal entries, apply bank activity & forecast cash.
- Oversee accounts payable: code, enter & post vendor invoices, manage AP inbox, vendor onboarding, invoice approvals, corporate card, & resolve vendor payments.
- Support month‑end close: reconcile vendor statements, prepare payroll journal entries, intercompany charges, P&L review, journal entries for depreciation, accruals, prepaid & unearned revenue, and reconcile select balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare Deltek reporting: AR & WIP aging, operational reports, & other revenue & realization reports as requested.
- Assist with annual & other processes such as reporting & budget preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar.
- 3+ years of accounting experience; preferred industry experience in banking, engineering, or law firm.
- Proficiency in accounting software & ERP systems.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Detail‑oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
