OverviewOur client, a residential construction developer, is looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Accountant to join their team in Atlanta. Reporting to their Controller, you will support month-end closing for their two divisions including accounts payable, journal entries, cash management, and financial reporting. The accounting team (3) is nimble and always looking for opportunities to support one another. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of the business and opportunities to grow with a company in growth mode.
Responsibilities- Assist with full-cycle accounting for combined and non-combined entities
- Support month-end closing and complete monthly journal entries
- Review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare profitability reporting and respond to questions from leadership team
- Manage daily cash balances and ensure proper funding for payments
- Transfer funds between accounts and set up ACH/wires as needed
- Assist with the preparation of lender reporting and compliance requirements
- Prepare monthly land development draws to submit to equity partners and lenders
- Support annual financial audit and prepare PBCs for the audit team
- Prepare and file property tax returns and business license renewals
- Work with Staff Accountant and Senior AP Specialist to complete 1099
- Support Accounting Staff with additional responsibilities as needed
- Full-cycle accounting experience required
- Experienced with month-end closing required
- Well-versed with Excel including VLOOKUPS required
