A high-growth, private equity-backed multi-location health and wellness company with over 30 locations and approximately $50M in annual revenue is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join its Atlanta-based support team. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment by building scalable accounting infrastructure and driving operational excellence.

As one of the first dedicated internal accounting hires, the Senior Accountant will work closely with the CFO to manage all core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and M&A support.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee full-cycle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper internal controls.
• Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead the transition fromcash-based to accrual-based accounting, partnering with external firms and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and present internal financial statements, dashboards, and reporting packages to executive leadership and investors.
• Manage bank, credit card, and intercompany account reconciliations.
• Support payroll oversight and employee expense reporting.

Audit & Compliance:

• Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors and third-party consultants.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of internal controls and accounting policies.
• Prepare technical accounting memos as needed for complex transactions.
• Partner with the CFO to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
• Contribute to financial due diligence, modeling, and integration planning for acquisitions and joint ventures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in multi-location, private equity-backed, or lower middle-market environments is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
