Key responsibilities include supporting month-end closing; costing, budgeting, performing monthly reconciliations; CAP LOH Variances, PPV, supporting external audits; and other duties as they relate to Plant Accounting. These responsibilities span the 18 Plastics Plants and 7 Metal Plants as well as divisional cost centers for each. The role is based in our Atlanta (Sandy Springs), GA office and will require occasional travel (5-10%).

This position reports to the Manager, Plant Accounting and will be joining a team of four accounting professionals dedicated to driving performance.

Responsibilities:

• Cost accounting, update standard costing, setting up materials in SAP, Updating activity rates.
• Annual budgeting process, provide estimated revaluation, fix budgeting errors, update new activity rates.
• Updating CAP LOH reports with amortization / roll on schedules.
• Allocate the revaluation (as the result of new standards) to the plants as per PPV days.
• Perform month-over-month analysis for P&L and B/S Accounts and provide the commentary for the management.
• GRIR Clearing process.
• Clearing Intercompany transactions.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and various balance sheet accounts for the Metal and Plastic Divisions.
• Support semi-annual physical inventories.
• Work closely with internal and external auditors for both Plastic and Metal Plants / Divisions.
• Support other plant accounting projects throughout the year as well as accounting/plant personnel in the field.
• Perform various other work-related duties / Ad hoc reports.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive and relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years in a cost accounting role for a multi-plant manufacturing company.
• Strong and demonstrable analytics skills, including very strong Excel skills are a must. Experience in other analytic tools (Power Query, Mainstream, etc.) is a plus.
• Solid experience and knowledge of a mainstream ERP financial system is required; SAP experience / expertise is strongly desired.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment where flexibility and a high comfort with change are key success attributes.
• Must be a self-starter who completes projects with a sense of urgency and with a high attention to accuracy and detail.
• Strong and pro-active communication skills will be essential due to the multi-site locations being supported.
• Must be available for occasional travel (5-10%).
