Our Family Help Team is a dynamic, committed and welcoming service, working alongside families at every stage of need. From early targeted support, through Children in Need, Edge of Care, Child Protection and Court work, we also support children in care until a clear plan for reunification or permanency is secured. This breadth of work makes our team varied, challenging and extremely rewarding.

Warwickshire County Council’s Families First teams are supporting young people across the county, bringing together Family Practitioners, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, PCSOs and soon an NHS Nurse. We work under Restorative Principles, supporting families to identify strengths, understand challenges and create achievable plans for positive change. Our practice is holistic, reducing risk and keeping families together wherever possible. We actively support learning and development, encouraging practitioners to grow and share ideas.

About the Role

We are recruiting for 2 Social Workers: 1 within Safeguarding & Intervention and 1 within the Duty & Assessment Team, covering North Warwickshire.

Full time 37 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 9am till 5.30pm and Friday 9am till 5pm.

Based at The Arden Centre, 120 Long Street, Atherstone, CV9 1AF
. Well connected to local roads and local amenities.

Experienced Social Worker (Grades K, L, N). Up to £51,726.00 per annum (Includes a £3,500 pro‑rated market supplement, subject to pension, tax and NI deductions. Ts&Cs apply). Plus, relocation allowance up to £8,000 may be available from 1st April 2026 if the relevant policy criteria are met. Ts&Cs apply.

Key Requirements
  • Professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or Certificate of Qualification in Social Work – CQSW).
  • In‑depth experience in children's social work and experience of complex cases.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make well‑informed decisions.
  • Ability to record and produce concise, effective, and accurate reports.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships, engage with children and families.
Career Progression
  • Year 1 — Newly Qualified Social Worker – Grade J
  • Year 2 — Social Worker – Grade K
  • Year 3 — Senior Social Worker – Grade L
  • Year 4 — Advanced Social Worker – Grade N
