Casual Kitchen Porter

£12.21 per hour, Casual work / Zero Hour Contract, Free staff meals on shift, Paid weekly through our payroll, Access to a wide range of training programmes.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Porter to join our dedicated catering team at Twycross Zoo. As a Casual Kitchen Porter, you will contribute to a passionate and friendly team working in a fast‑paced environment to maintain the kitchen areas to the highest levels of cleanliness. • Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and associated working areas.
• Ensure all pots, pans, utensils and crockery are cleaned to the highest standard.
• Deep clean fridges, ovens and storerooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards.
• Work with and take direction from the chefs.
• Assist with basic food preparation.
• Transport food and equipment between the on‑site kitchens and storage areas.
• Ensure the correct use of all machinery and equipment.
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image.
• Comply with Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations.

• Passionate about working in a food service environment.
• Able to work positively with others as part of a team.
• The ability to remain calm during high‑volume periods.
• Friendly, helpful & polite.
• Able to prioritise and work under pressure.
• Must be able to maintain standards and follow procedures.
• Awareness of manual handling techniques.
• Experience of using kitchen equipment.
• Experience of working in a similar role.
• Have a flexible approach to working.
