Earth Link is hiring a Customer Support Representative to provide technical support to our business customers and help ensure the reliable operation of our telecommunications services.
This is an entry-level role and a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in technology who wants to build hands-on experience in technical support, networking fundamentals, and customer service. If you enjoy problem-solving, learning new systems, and helping customers, this role offers a solid foundation for career growth.
This position is based on-site at our Athens, TX office and works a consistent daytime schedule.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve basic network and modem functionality issues
- Walk customers through common hardware and software configurations
- Provide support to customers in person, by phone, and via email
- Document customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately
- Create, update, and monitor work orders and trouble tickets
- Communicate status updates to customers throughout the resolution process
- Perform follow-up calls to confirm service restoration and customer satisfaction
- Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2 support when needed
- Perform site surveys as assigned
- Passion for technology and interest in learning technical systems
- Customer-focused attitude with strong listening skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Previous customer service or technical support experience, preferred
- Coursework, certifications, or self-study related to IT, networking, or technology, preferred
- Hourly Pay: $13.00 per hour (hire-in rate)
