Your role will involve engaging with various organizational levels and working alongside a global process safety team to enhance safety protocols.
Key Objectives:
- Develop and implement measurement and metrics programs that engage site leaders, enabling them to prioritize process safety initiatives effectively.
- Enhance the understanding and management of process safety risks through comprehensive program deployment and evaluation.
- Initiate competency development in process safety management (PSM) for program owners.
- Lead the integration of process safety programs into operating units, fostering knowledge and sustainable safety performance.
- Collaborate with site leadership to prioritize and complete process safety action items promptly.
- Develop and support program owners in the management of process safety initiatives.
- Implement strategies to reduce site risk profiles using a risk-based approach.
- Coordinate and facilitate process safety training sessions.
- Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) to meet site requirements.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Plan rules.
- Participate in audits and investigations to enhance process safety measures.
- Maintain process safety metrics and a scorecard to guide site safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations and reliability teams to understand and mitigate real-time process safety risks.
This position reports to the Senior PSM Manager and collaborates closely with the PHA Facilitator and the ESSH Leader.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably chemical or mechanical.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in PSM within chemical or oil and gas manufacturing environments.
- Proven expertise in risk-based process safety approaches as outlined by the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS).
- Experience in risk management settings, focusing on risk identification and management.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting Process and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.
- Detail-oriented with analytical capabilities.
