DescriptionSummit Diagnostic Center at Athens is recruiting for an Echo Tech PRN
. This position performs sonographic diagnostic tests, specializing in echo cardiographic studies as ordered by physicians.
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
Performs ultrasound tests specializing primarily in echo cardiographic procedures on all scheduled patients safely and accurately. Follows imaging protocols to assure consistent and accurate test results.
- Treats patients in a professional and pleasant manner while attending to their needs and maximizing their level of comfort.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures, including OSHA and the corporate compliance plan.
- Adjusts to varying workflow as needed; requests assistance from co-workers and or supervisor as appropriate.
- Maintains sonography equipment. Orders and stocks all supplies, as requested by supervisor. Notifies supervisor in a timely manner re: any challenges with equipment.
- Maintains appropriate logs, card files, film folders, test results, etc., in an orderly fashion.
- Assists in other areas during idle times in assigned areas.
- Performs all duties while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to all co-workers, management, and the public.
- Maintains CPR certification and all certifications/ continuing education required and appropriate for position.
- Demonstrates current competencies related to job position.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each Employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
- Performs related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Education
High school graduate or equivalent; completion all required courses in ultrasound technology.
Experience
Two years’ experience in ultrasound required and two years’ experience in cardiovascular sonography area of specialty preferred.
Certification/License
RDCS certification or equivalent required.
