Visiting Professor, Musicology
Position details: one‑year appointment (renewable up to three years) in Musicology at Ohio University’s School of Music, Athens campus. Beginning date August 16, 2026.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in music history, including Introduction to Music History and Literature, History and Literature of Music I & II, graduate seminars in music history, and possibly a course in the General Education curriculum.
- Exact teaching assignments will be made by the Director of the School of Music based on the needs of the school.
- Teaching is the primary focus; the appointee is not required to carry out scholarly/creative activity.
- Master’s degree required in musicology or a closely related field combined with a minimum of seven years of related experience.
- Preferred:
Ph.D. in musicology or a closely related field. - Experience in collegiate teaching settings.
