Rhino Medical is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians (MD/DO) for a newly launched Emergency Department program at a community hospital in Athens, Ohio.

This is a startup opportunity offering consistent physician coverage, a balanced pace, and a well-supported MD + APP staffing model. This assignment is ideal for physicians who enjoy community-based emergency medicine, value clinical autonomy, and are comfortable working a mix of day and night shifts in a moderate-acuity setting.

• Annual ED Volume: ~23,000 visits
• Patients Per Hour: ~1.75
• ED Beds: 24
• Hospital Beds: 82
• Admission Rate: ~14%
• Transfers: ~7%
• Pediatrics: ~15% of volume

• Trauma Designation: None
• Nearest Trauma Center: ~65–75 miles

• Provide comprehensive emergency care across all acuity levels
• Supervise and collaborate with APCs
• Manage admissions and place admitting orders
• Respond to floor codes as required
• Coordinate transfers when higher-level care is needed
• Deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a community setting

• Board Certification:
  • ABEM, AOBEM, ABIM, or ABFM
  • Must be board certified or become certified within 5 years of residency completion
• Licensure: Active Ohio medical license
• Certifications

• Experience: Comfortable practicing independently in a moderate-acuity ED
