• Maintain Greenhouse – care for plants in greenhouse: plant, weed, fertilize, water. (40% of time)
• Assist in basic lab activities; preparing media, running general molecular standardized diagnostic assays for bacterial, fungal and viral pathogens. (60% of time)
• Provide greenhouse assistance: potting, fertilizing, inoculating, watering plants, keeping greenhouse space neat, orderly and weed free.
• Assist in basic field research: collecting plant samples, inoculating plant samples, setting up field studies including labeling and placing flags, stakes and markers.
• Assist with basic lab protocols: washing glassware, preparing simple solutions, preparing media, autoclaving supplies and waste, taking trash to dumpster, keeping laboratory space neat, orderly and clean.

Position will provide greenhouse assistance to include potting, fertilizing, inoculating and watering plants. Individual will assist in keeping greenhouse space neat, orderly and weed free. Individual will provide assistance with basic field research as requested to include collecting plant samples, inoculating plant samples, setting up field studies including labeling and placing flags, stakes and markers. Individual will assist with basic lab protocols as requested and will be responsible for basic lab maintenance and chores including washing glassware, preparing simple solutions, preparing media, autoclaving supplies and waste, taking trash to dumpster, etc.
