General PurposeAs an Area Supervisor, you will be responsible for a specific area of the store, overseeing general operations and acting as Manager on Duty. Key duties include opening and closing the store, supervising associates, ensuring merchandise presentation, maintaining a clean work area, and executing company operational processes.
Essential Functions- Maintain safe & secure environments: uphold safety, monitor sales floor, secure building, manage EAS devices, handle security of cash office, etc.
- Customer service: treat all customers, associates, leaders respectfully; demonstrate courtesy and professionalism.
- Personal & store brand: represent Ross, maintain professional appearance, ensure dress code compliance, keep store clean and merchandised.
- General merchandising: ensure recovery, sizing, markdowns, receiving, processing, back‑stock, floor moves, and signage.
- Loss prevention: maintain PVM, conduct code 50 inspections, safeguard confidential info, maximize productivity.
- Front‑end supervision: manage cash register proficiency, shortage control, break schedules, equipment, and front‑end supplies.
- Fitting rooms: maintain cleanliness, audit tags, ensure go‑back compliance.
- Administrative duties: manage cash pulls, bank deposits, refund approvals, payroll, scheduling compliance, and other duties as assigned.

- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematical calculations ability.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, move, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, stoop, and lift ≥25 lbs occasionally. Stockroom shifts may require lifting ≥20 lbs.
