Duties/Responsibilities
  • Kitchen prep (cutting meat and vegetables, preparing food for service, maintenance of event food levels). – 60%
  • Prepare custom food for specific outlets within the Center. – 20%
  • Keep preparation and work stations clean and organized. – 15%
  • Occasionally work with staff to help plate up and move plated banquet meals to event area. – 5%

Position Summary

Position will assist with preparation and presentation of food for the Savannah Room, Courtyard Café, Training Table, and or Banquets (AM/PM).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale.
  • Ability to maintain records of output, quantities of ingredients used, and supplies on hand.
  • Knowledge of a large variety of food recipes.
  • Knowledge of food values, menu planning and uses for leftover food.
  • Ability to work from written menus and standard recipes.
  • Considerable knowledge of health hazards in food prep and service and effective precautionary measures.
  • Ability to handle knives and other sharp items in a safe manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow direction from supervisor.
  • Ability to work long hours while standing and under conditions of high temperatures.
