Position SummaryThis position involves administrative and supervisory work in food service management in a large dining commons. Assists in overall operation as directed by the manager. Assists in planning, organizing and directing Food Services personnel in food production and services. Holds regular production meetings with staff and assists in sanitation inspection programs. Work is performed under the direction of the Food Operations (Dining) Manager or Dining Commons Manager and is evaluated through observation and customer satisfaction.
All other related duties as assigned.
Extensive knowledge of operating a food service with a diversified staff; good interpersonal skills; special event planning and production; knowledge of food service sanitation and health & safety requirements for large-scale operations. Basic knowledge of PCs and food production software. Ability to supervise staff, maintain records, and apply institutional or commercial food service management procedures. Considerable knowledge of nutrition, menu planning, and safety standards.

Ability to perform physical activity; move loads up to 50 lbs; unload and stock products; push/pull up to 30 lbs; repetitive motion of wrists, arms, and shoulders; climb, reach, crouch, twist, and kneel; work in noisy, hot/cold environments with cleaning chemicals, dust, fumes, and odors. Long hours standing.
