Overview

Food Service Worker II – Department:
Auxiliary Bolton, University of Georgia (Athens Area).

• Limited supervision over subordinate food service workers engaged in serving foods, cleaning facilities, and preparing serving line meals.
• Assist cooks and kitchen personnel with tasks such as cleaning and preparing vegetables, washing dishes, serving from a serving line, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness in food handling and serving, and ensure patrons are served in a courteous manner.
• Have knowledge of care and use of food service equipment (e.g., meat slicer, mixing machines, steam cookers).
• Perform related work as assigned by management.

• Minimum qualifications:
  
  Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent (contact HR for evaluation of education/experience in lieu of minimum qualifications).
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Basic math skills; ability to supervise routine food service tasks; knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service and precautionary measures; knowledge of safe food handling in a team environment; knowledge of food preparation methods.
• Physical Demands:
  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, unload and stock products, work with repetitive wrist/arm/shoulder motion, and work in noisy and hot/cold environments with chemicals and cleaning equipment; long hours of standing.

• 40 hour work week; hours and schedule may vary and include evenings and weekends; weekend work is required at this location.

• FLSA:
  Non-exempt;
  Background checks required; pre-employment drug testing may be applicable for high-risk positions.
