The technician will perform a variety of laboratory and field tasks related to research on the biogeochemistry, bioavailability, and bioaccumulation of metals in aquatic ecosystems. Responsibilities include field sample collection, laboratory sample processing for chemical analysis, assisting students with experiments, and routine operations of laboratory facilities. The position is full-time with flexible work hours.

• Manage routine duties related to the efficient operation of the main lab, hood lab, and fish lab, including purchasing chemicals and supplies, maintaining equipment and instruments, and updating safety-related documents. (50% of time)
• Assist the metal biogeochemistry research project in H-02 constructed wetland: field sampling, sample processing, chemical analysis, and data management. (20% of time)
• Assist graduate students and postdocs with ongoing research projects.
• Manage data used to prepare reports for funding agencies on associated research projects. (10% of time)

• Lifting 50 lbs, sitting, standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, keyboarding, gross and fine manipulation, driving, stooping, crouching, kneeling, speaking, and hearing.
