- Assists with planting, growing, harvesting, and maintaining plants in greenhouses and experimental field plots.
- Collects, prepares, and verifies samples and supporting information from field and laboratory data.
- Assists in laboratory‑based genetic analyses for plant breeding, including DNA extraction.
- Keeps detailed records of experimental data and compiles data from various sources.
- Ensures strict adherence to safety and experimental protocols, maintains equipment, and accurately records data for research in plant biology.
A Biological Science Technician supports scientific research, laboratory and field studies focused on peanut genetics and pre‑breeding.
Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor’s degree in plant genetics, plant breeding, horticulture, biology, or related biological sciences. Qualifying experience includes participation in a biological science research project related to plants by collecting and evaluating plants in a laboratory, field, or greenhouse environment; compiling records and analyzing experimental data; and operating scientific laboratory equipment.
