Position SummaryThe post-doctorial associate will participate in the Georgia CTSA Translational Workforce Development (TWD) project, working with the Georgia CTSA TWD Directors and faculty, BTSI Director, and UGA Georgia CTSA TWD faculty. The goal of the TWD project is to support career advancement of translational research professionals through a career navigation system (eMPACT, Empowering Purposeful Advancement of Careers and Training in the Research Workforce), and an online continuing education platform (TWD Course Catalog).
The postdoctoral associate will work collaboratively to maintain, disseminate, evaluate, and improve eMPACT and TWD Course Catalog to promote personalized training and career advancement, workforce support and retention, and strategic development of training programs to meet the needs of health professionals. The postdoctoral associate will also manage inter-institutional collaboration and communication and other logistics related to end user interviews and surveys for the project.
This may require regular visits to Emory University. It is expected that the associate will author and contribute to peer-reviewed research, outreach, publications and presentations.
Facilitate research and program development and evaluation, including data collection, data management, data analysis, and reporting to external oversight organizations. Support report writing, scientific manuscript writing/review, and grant writing. Support TWD team leadership, training, and coordination. Collaborate with state specialists, researchers, data analysts, and informatics experts to advance and evaluate eMPACT and TWD Catalog services, supporting needs assessment, research, and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications- Doctoral degree in public health, community health, health promotion, nursing, education, or a related field required.
- Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research (data collection, data management, data analysis, writing for scientific publications) required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment involving multi-tasking.
- Strong interpersonal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Work independently with BTSI faculty and Georgia CTSA Translational Workforce Development core faculty and researchers.
- Strong writing skills.
- Work independently and in teams.
- Work with a wide variety of colleagues and audiences including academic colleagues, medical professionals, practitioners, extension agents, graduate and undergraduate students, and the public.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Experience working with and facilitating TWD community leadership groups.
- Experience in program evaluation, including process evaluation, and implementation science preferred.
