- Assist in plot layout, planting, maintenance of peanut field plots during the growing season, and harvest during harvest season. (40% of time)
- Assist in measuring, preparing, small amounts of fungicides for leaf spot control experiments, and in-field mixing during the application process. (30% of time)
- Assist in disease evaluation of field plots, recording and filing hard copies of data sheets. (20% of time)
- Assist in drying and weighing yield bags, obtaining grade samples, shelling peanut grade samples and evaluating samples. (10% of time)
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position: High school diploma preferred
Physical Demands: Standing, lifting, enduring outside elements for long periods of time, complete some in-state travel, primarily to UGA research stations in Plains and Attapulgus, as well as on-farm research/demo sites. Operate farm machinery and peanut shelling/grading equipment, work safely with both registered and experimental pesticides, and will handle bags of harvested peanuts (
