The Lee lab in the University of Georgia (UGA) seeks a highly motivated, team‑oriented Research Professional to advance studies of innate immune cells in Lewy body disease. The role involves designing and executing research projects, managing laboratory operations, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and students across multiple UGA programs.
Responsibilities- Direct daily operations of research projects, including personnel, equipment, and facility maintenance.
- Monitor laboratory work to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Analyze experimental data and interpret results, preparing reports and summaries of findings.
- Conduct research or assist in its conduct, including sample collection and data acquisition.
- Utilize computers, laboratory instrumentation, and research software for data entry and analysis.
- Maintain research protocols, standard operating procedures, and training manuals for multiple projects.
- Clean, maintain, and prepare supplies and work areas to support smooth laboratory workflow.
- Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in a related field.
- Experience in neuroscience, immunology, or molecular biology.
- Background in research involving in vivo or in vitro models of neurodegenerative diseases.
- Prior laboratory management or supervisory experience.
- Stand at a lab bench for long periods of time.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
