Duties / Responsibilities (40%)Maintain greenhouse – care for plants: plant, weed, fertilize, water.
Duties / Responsibilities (60%)Assist in basic lab activities; preparing media, running general molecular standardized diagnostic assays for bacterial, fungal, and viral pathogens.
Position SummaryPosition will provide greenhouse assistance including potting, fertilizing, inoculating, and watering plants. The individual will also assist in basic field research: collecting plant samples, inoculating samples, setting up field studies with labeling and placing flags, stakes, and markers. Laboratory duties include basic maintenance and chores such as washing glassware, preparing simple solutions, autoclaving supplies, waste disposal, and keeping the laboratory space neat, orderly, and clean.
