Post Doc of Human Dimensions of Chronic Wasting Disease
The University of Georgia invites applications for a two‑year Post‑Doctoral Associate position in the Warnell‑Research department to conduct research on the human dimensions of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in Georgia’s white‑tailed deer population.
Position SummaryThis position is funded by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and focuses on developing strategies for effective communication and cooperation with landowners, hunters, and other partners to minimize CWD risk. The postdoctoral researcher will design and oversee a large‑scale social‑science survey, apply discrete choice modeling, and produce scientific manuscripts and presentations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with research collaborators, survey design, execution, and analysis (45% of time).
- Prepare scientific manuscripts (10% of time).
- Attend professional meetings to present results.
- Develop research questions, data collection protocols, and technical writing for manuscript preparation.
- PhD in a field closely related to human dimensions of natural resource management (e.g., recreation, tourism, wildlife management).
- Demonstrated expertise in social‑science research and a strong record of scientific publication.
- Position is exempt; full time (FTE 1.00).
- Work will include office duties and driving.
- Position requires traveling to collaborate with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
