Duties/Responsibilities- Manage and implement experimental design, coordination of technical support and graduate student engagement for specific research projects.
- Analyze data and optimize polymer applications and equipment utilization, and perform analytical evaluation of materials.
- Conduct research on pre‑specified projects and evolving projects with current NMI biopolymer and coating teams.
- Lead senior responsibilities such as experimental design, coordination, data analysis, and optimization of polymer applications and equipment utilization.
- Participate in project‑specific grant writing, regulatory document preparation, and publication as applicable.
- Formulate and produce biologically degradable adhesives for paper coating applications.
- 65% focused on experimental design, coordination, data analysis, and polymer applications.
- 35% on research project development, grant writing, regulatory documentation, and publications.

Position SummaryThe postdoctoral associate will conduct research on a pre‑specified project as well as collaborative projects with NMI biopolymer and coating teams. The associate will take on senior responsibilities such as experimental design, coordination of technical support, graduate students, data analysis and optimization of polymer applications and equipment utilization. The post‑doc may be involved in project‑specific grant writing, regulatory document preparation, and publication where applicable.
Primary responsibilities include formulation and production of biologically degradable adhesives, requiring a background in polymer chemistry and adhesive formulation.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a background in polymer chemistry and adhesives.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Familiarity with polymer chemistry and adhesives.
- Preferred knowledge in formulation and production of biologically degradable adhesives for paper coating applications.
Standing/sitting for long periods in relation to adhesive formulation, production, and coating field trials.
