Location Athens Area
- Plan, organize, and direct the administrative and managerial functions of the Poultry Research Center (PRC).
- Supervise and participate in experimental farm programs and projects requiring complex research procedures.
- Perform extensive farm labor and maintenance, including animal husbandry, building and equipment care, and record keeping.
- Review work primarily through observation of results and periodic conferences under the general direction of the PRC Manager.
- Feed animal care: feeding, watering, temperature monitoring, assisting scientists with research projects, weighing animals, and data collection.
- General research farm maintenance, cleaning facilities after use, and preparing them for new experiments.
- Assist with feed manufacturing and general feed mill maintenance.
- Maintain records, update operating procedures, and prepare reports.
- Minimum Qualifications: Technical knowledge in the field acquired through apprenticeship, a 2‑year degree, or a professional certificate.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in farm management, animal husbandry, equipment maintenance, and a demonstrated ability to plan and direct large scale diversified farm activities.
- Repeatedly lift, pull, and push 50+ pounds.
- Perform heavy manual labor for extensive periods of time.
