Additional Schedule Information: Scheduled shifts will fit within the course of the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Unit’s operational hours of 24 hours p/day, 7 days p/week, 365 days per year.

This position will do the work of an emergency doctor in the Small Animal Emergency Critical Care service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Primarily responsible for assessing injury or disease in small animal cases brought to the Small animal emergency room.
Follow hospital standard operating procedures, maintain appropriate medical records and communication logs, adhere to pharmacy laws to ensure compliance.
Minimum Qualifications- Licensed in good standing to practice Veterinary medicine within the State of Georgia.
- Experience in emergency medicine.
- Extensive experience in assessing, diagnosing and treating small animals, mostly cats and dogs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work collaboratively and collegially within a team of veterinary professionals and veterinary students.
- Extensive movement within multiple areas of the hospital.
- Carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Working around infectious disease that requires isolation protocols.
- PPE including, but not limited to, mask, gloves, radiation apron, face shield.
