DescriptionThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, treatments, and emergency response. The RN collaborates with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans while ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards.
How YOU can Make an Impact- Provide direct patient care.
- Perform comprehensive physical assessments and history reviews to determine patient health status and prioritize care needs.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and medical interventions in compliance with physician orders and healthcare protocols.
- Respond to and manage medical emergencies, including trauma and medical crises, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
- Document promptly and properly.
- Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and local healthcare regulations, as well as facility-specific policies.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families (as needed), and correctional facility staff regarding treatment plans, health education, and health‑related concerns.
- Assume leadership roles in the absence of higher‑level management, including overseeing day‑to‑day operations of the nursing team and ensuring proper patient care delivery.
- Supervise and assist LPNs and nursing assistants in patient care tasks, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and best practices.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment that meets infection control and safety standards.
- Follow established policies and procedures, including those related to infection control, safety protocols, and medication administration.
- A current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Experience in direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment is helpful.
- Active CPR/BLS certificate required prior to Start Date (American Heart Association / American Red Cross guideline approved).
