The Marketing Manager increases the economic impact of tourism in Athens-Clarke County by attracting visitors through a variety of collateral, paid advertising, and projects that resonate with the target audience. From ideation and concepting through to production, the Marketing Manager develops compelling content and messaging that aligns with strategic goals and marketing plan.
Responsibilities- Position supervises the Athens Restaurant Week intern and reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
- Know the key Athens target audiences and what resonates with them.
- Ensure that marketing assets align with brand style, and tone.
- Manage design, placement, and reporting for paid advertising campaigns placed through various vendors.
- Manage design and production, both in-house and with vendors, of printed and digital collateral.
- Manage external videographer and photographer shoots.
- Write and send email blasts to leisure and meeting sales target audiences.
- Develop and maintain a thorough and well-organized digital assets library.
- Manage special promotional campaigns such as the annual Athens Restaurant Week each July.
- Provide back-up social media support to the Communications Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, advertising, design or related field.
- 2-3+ years experience.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed team skills but can work independently with limited direction from others.
- Highly organized, efficient and detail-oriented.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Positive community attitude (must love Athens!)
- Graphic design experience, including familiarity with tools such as Canva and the Asana project management platform, is a strong plus.
- Still photography and video shooting and editing abilities a strong plus.
- Confidence in learning new programs and applications.
- Insights on the latest marketing trends and best practices.
- Ability to maintain brand voice.
