Job Details
Job Title: Packaging Technician
Job Duration: 6 months
Location: Athens, GA
Pay Range: $18-20/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift (11 pm - 7 am)
Job DescriptionPackage vaccines, run machinery, label and package finished goods. Perform duties associated with labeling, inspecting, and packaging of vaccines, operating packaging equipment to ensure target line rates are met, and collaborating effectively with other functional groups to achieve production goals timely.
Responsibilities- Operate packaging equipment including labelers, pick‑and‑place, heat tunnel, vision systems, forklift, etc.
- Inspect product accurately to meet quality guidelines.
- Perform equipment change‑over and setup.
- Troubleshoot packaging equipment issues (e.g., labelers, pick‑and‑place, heat tunnel).
- Follow cGMP documentation procedures in a timely manner.
- Read, understand, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare QA line clearances (e.g., small volume line).
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Maintain facilities and equipment as required by SOPs.
- Cross‑train in other areas within the department to meet business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Line Leader or Supervisor.
- Communicate processing needs to co‑workers.
- Report progress several times a day to the Shift Line Leader and/or Supervisor.
- Escalate process occurrences at the time of event to Shift Line Leader and/or Supervisor.
- Communicate facility and inventory related needs daily.
- Monitor process against manufacturing records, data capture forms, and SOPs.
- Participate in Daily Performance Review (Team).
- Complete batch tickets with materials consumed during execution.
- Provide feedback on feasibility of improvement proposals.
- Adhere to defined process sequences.
- Demonstrate commitment to the HSE Program; work safely and responsibly, support safety policies and procedures, and report unsafe work habits, conditions, and/or practices.
- 2 to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Detail oriented with effective communication skills and quality consciousness.
- Equipment/process troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Forklift certified.
