Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Serves as part of the Cardiovascular (CV) management team focused on promoting the mission, vision and values of Piedmont Healthcare Corporation (PHC), embracing a patient centered philosophy while promoting cardiovascular services across the continuum and enhancing value-driven outcomes. Leads the administrative, operational, and clinical functions of all invasive service departments which include the Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and Cardiac Observation and Admission Unit (COA).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads operational components and manages all aspects of the department.
  • Oversees finances and budget for department.
  • Manages Value (performance improvement).
  • Serves on CV Service Line Council managing invasive service variation and production across the system.
  • Manages Strategic Direction for the department.
  • Leads Clinical Services and Program Implementations for department.
  • Leads Human Resource related activities for the department.
  • Leads/drives large multi-disciplinary performance improvement projects/initiatives to expand and improve operations.
  • Establishes and delivers change management practices based on project outcomes, including proper communication (preparation of written communication to employees and external sources), development and delivery of training programs, and establishing effective project governance.
  • Develops processes for transfer of capabilities to ensure sustainable future outcomes from the projects.
  • Builds relationships with functional leaders across the healthcare system, supporting prioritized major CV initiatives with clear mandates, deliverables and resources.
  • Creates and delivers high-level presentations to support findings and conclusions.
  • Creates and develops flexible strategic initiatives teams focused on change initiatives.
  • Vendor management, including selection (consultants, CROs, distributors, etc.), RFP preparation, negotiation of scope and price, project oversight and payment management.
  • Analyzes and develops policy and procedures to optimize operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinates and establishes employee development programs.
  • Serves as the thought leader and promotes operational excellence in process improvement and lean processes across Piedmont Healthcare.
  • Builds value-added relationships with the Leadership Team to support functionally-owned projects with active steering, ongoing involvement and effective decision-making.
Qualifications

MINIMUM

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelors Degree from a recognized college or university.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

Seven (7) years of experience with working knowledge of the health care industry. Five (5) years of direct management/supervisory experience.

ADDITIONAL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters in Business Administration. Clinical cardiovascular experience and/or management experience in an interventional cardiovascular program and/or open-heart program. Six Sigma and PMP certification. Leadership qualities consistent with creativity, innovation, collaboration and critical thinking;
Visionary leader who identifies opportunities for improved customer value and building collegial relationships to achieve value-driven outcomes.
