Position Summary

The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Academic Fiscal Affairs and serves as the chief fiscal lead for all VPAA units. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic financial initiatives, annual budgets, and related policies. The Director also represents the Vice President for Academic Affairs on key campus committees—including those focused on budgeting, finance, and reporting—and provides guidance on policy development, process improvements, and other business operations.

Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of UGA Financials, Budget Systems, and Foundation fund management, including reporting, analysis, and compliance requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of UGA policies, procedures, and administrative guidelines, particularly those related to finance, budgeting, and academic operations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting methodologies, and strategic resource allocation within a higher education environment.
  • Understanding of process improvement principles and operational best practices for academic and administrative units.
Skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and data analysis.
  • Strong financial reporting and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to various audiences.
  • Effective leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to guide teams and represent VPAA in high-level campus groups.
