- Validate camera and sensor-based movement data against AI counting outputs
- Perform manual or semi-automated ground-truth checks to assess AI model accuracy
- Identify discrepancies between observed counts and AI predictions (e.g., under counts, over counts, classification errors)
- Assist in developing validation workflows, scripts, and QA checks to systematically compare data sources
- Document validation results, error rates, assumptions, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with analysts and engineers to refine model inputs and improve data quality
- Support reproducible research practices through clear documentation and version-controlled code

Position SummaryWe are seeking a technically skilled undergraduate student to support a grant-funded research project evaluating the operational impacts of the Spring 2026 class schedule change at the University of Georgia. This position focuses on validating camera-based and sensor-derived movement data against AI-generated counting outputs used to model campus activity patterns.
The student will work closely with professional analysts, researchers, and engineering partners to ensure that AI tools and sensor systems accurately reflect real-world conditions. This role is ideal for an undergraduate student with coding experience, strong analytical skills, and an interest in engineering, AI systems, transportation, or applied data science.
