In 2018, The UGA Tifton Campus began a yearlong Centennial celebration with various events to commemorate its 100th anniversary of providing updated research to the community.
Research is done on a wide range of commodities, including cotton, peanuts, vegetables and turf grass, all of which make agriculture the No. 1 industry in Georgia.
In 2004, a teaching program was initiated and it has been growing ever since. College-level instruction on campus is aimed at undergraduate and graduate-degree level study.

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with sufficient experience to show competence and innovation in application development.
- Experience in developing web applications for forestry, agriculture and/or natural resources.
This position is part of the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the University of Georgia - Tifton Campus (Bugwood). The Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health develops, maintains and hosts a large number of digital tools and resources including web, smartphone, and database applications.
This incumbent is responsible for working with center staff, federal and state agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain and develop the Bugwood digital resources. They also serve a leading role in web application development. The Application Programmer Associate must have a working knowledge of programming languages such as NodeJS, Cold Fusion, Python and JavaScript.
