Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include but are not limited to front office and back-office functions.
QualificationsMinimum
Education Required:
High School diploma or GED. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program required. In lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.
Minimum Experience
Required:
One (1) year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. In lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law: None.
Additional Qualifications: BLS required. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization required.
