Schedule: 9 weeks, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (No work June 29 – July 3)
Salary: $15.00 /hr

Position Summary: Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant is seeking a motivated and energetic individual who enjoys working with students ages 6‑13 and has experience in youth camp programs. The internship runs from May 21 – August 4, 2026. Onsite housing and daily lunch are provided. The intern will assist in daily preparations, instruction, and camper supervision, providing experiential learning opportunities in environmental/marine education with emphasis on summer marine science camp programming.

• Assist in instruction and implementation of Summer Marine Science Camp
• Utilize skills and knowledge gained during undergraduate studies
• Work in an environment conducive to learning and professional growth

• Previous experience working with children ages 6‑14, preferably in a camp setting
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
• First Aid and CPR certification
• At least 18 years of age
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university
• Completion of internship application and background check
• U.S. citizen or valid U.S. work visa
• Pre‑ and post‑internship assessments, progress and summary reports, and exit interview

• Physical ability to work outdoors in ambient conditions and lift objects up to 50 lbs
• Driving required; driving as needed for job duties

Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check, confirmation of credentials and employment history, and a satisfactory credit check if applicable.
