This is a full‑time, on‑site role for an Academic Advisor I located in Athens, GA. The Academic Advisor will provide guidance and support to students through personalized and group advising sessions. Responsibilities include assisting students with academic planning, course selection, understanding degree requirements, and connecting students with campus resources. Additionally, the Academic Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting student success, addressing academic challenges, and fostering student development within university policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Proficiency in Academic Advising and a thorough understanding of education systems and degree requirements.
- Experience in Student Counseling and Career Counseling to support academic and career development.
- Strong verbal and written Communication skills for effective interaction with students, faculty, and staff.
- Dedication to fostering student success, with the ability to build supportive, professional relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Familiarity with university policies, programs, and resources is an advantage.
