About the Position
Assistant/Associate Professor Open Rank in the Department of Environmental Health Science and Institute of Gerontology, College of Public Health, University of Georgia. This is a tenure‑track faculty position with a 9‑month academic year and an opportunity to supplement salary during the summer.
LocationAthens, Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
- Establish and maintain an externally funded research program focused on One Health and environmental risk factors for neurodegenerative disease.
- Engage in teaching, research, and service at the Cognitive Aging Research and Education (CARE) Center.
A doctoral degree in environmental health, gerontology, computational neuroscience, neurobiology, or a related discipline (e.g., biology, environmental science, public health, toxicology).
Preferred Qualifications- Strong record in teaching, research, and service in One Health with a focus on aging, dementia, or neurodegenerative disease.
- Experience integrating human‑, animal‑, and/or environmental systems research using computational and/or integrative –omics technologies.
- Evidence of successful grant applications and secured extramural funding.
- Clinical neuropsychology or MD‑PhD background is encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate research and support student learning.
- Strong evidence of acquiring and administering external funding (current principal investigator with existing grants preferred).
- Strong evidence of capacity to produce and communicate research findings.
- Excellence in teaching and working with students.
- Commitment to community engagement.
At least two years of postdoctoral training or teaching after completing a PhD, with relevant research publications.
