• Field and work processing of samples, including helping to plant, maintain, harvest, and process field studies. Data collection.
• Laboratory work: processing, sorting, inspecting plant samples for diseases and insect damages; data collection and entry.
• Assist with sampling field trials for insects and various plant measurements.
• Out‑of‑town travel to research plots during the workday as needed.

High school or equivalent, or combination of education and work experience in the lab and field plots or a related area. Other training will be provided as appropriate.

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently or with supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Bend and lift up to 50 pounds, work in a laboratory for multiple hours a day. Intermittent out‑of‑town travel to research plots during the workday. Driving as needed for job duties.

• Position is not a position of trust.
• Does not involve access to financial resources.
• Operation of P‑Card not required.
• Driving is required.
• No direct interaction or care of children under 18.
• No security access.
