Position SummaryThis position implements the installation, maintenance, treatment, measurement, and documentation of research field plots of a large, regional, forestry field research program from Virginia to Florida to East Texas. The individual follows study work plans and established protocols in executing tasks, working as part of a crew and independently. Task completion often requires solving problems regarding scheduling, safety, quality, and methods.
The employee contributes to improvement in work processes through critical observation and trial and error, and interprets results of efforts for reasonableness, accuracy, and process quality, making modifications as warranted.
Attention to detail.
Physical Demands- Extensive work in many environmental conditions throughout the year (e.g. hot and cold weather, rain, noxious flora and fauna).
- Occasional handling of heavy materials and working in challenging surroundings (e.g. harvested sites or sites with dense forest growth).
